Jannat Bibi
“The entire village came out of their houses. My father held my fingers… We stayed by the river there for 7 days… then someone suggested to my father to leave.”
Bahadur and Jannat Ali Phambra migrated from Phambra village, near Jalandhar, in India to Sheikhupura in Pakistan as children, eventually settling in Lyallpur (now Faisalabad). They had to escape as violence and fires broke out in nearby villages. They later migrated again to the UK, where they now own a shop called Phambra Food Store in London.
