TRILOCHAN SINGH
“I was 15 years old, student of 10th class, so I organised the picketing of the school and close schools. Then the police came and did a lathicharge and I was hurt. So I was taken away to the jail.”
Trilochan Singh is an independence activist from Peshawar who migrated to Delhi. He had a personal relationship with many of the significant figures of the colonial struggle – including Gandhi, with whom he shared a jail cell in Lahore. Trilochan was a figurehead in the Quit-India movement that precipitated India’s independence from colonial rule.
